For more than a decade, we have been providing sewing machine training for Ethiopian Jewish youth, men and women.
We do this to help them acquire a skill to help them get a job and stand on their feet. We are helping them to do special Talit weaving/sewing especially for Beta Israel men in the Gondar area.
The current main struggles they are facing is accessing materials needed for sewing and lack of tourists currently going Gondar to visit to buy their products. But I still encouraged and support them to continue to do whatever they can every day. Possibly I’ll bring the Talit to the USA to help them.
Abebe is in charge of the weaving project and has 10 workers with him. Most of them are married and have families. The project gives them opportunities to sustain their families. And all of you have been making it possible. Bless you!
