Fresh Water Wells

I stretch forth my hands to You; my soul thirsts after You like a thirsty land. Ps 143:6

In Ethiopia, water issues are significant. During summer, when the rainy season is finished, villagers suffer tremendously attempting to find water from filthy rivers.  Most diseases in the villages came from unclean water.

In some areas, they have to walk one or two hours to find clean water.

Over the past decade, thanks to our supporters, HIIM has dug over 20 wells in 10 small villages, saving many from death.

We have a small well-digging machine that can dig 40-50 feet deep. We are moving into the next phase to provide more deep-water wells that can last many years. We are always looking for sponsors for this wonderful project to help many more people.

The cost of 1 shallow water well is $10,000-15,000
The cost of 1 deep well water well is $15,000-20,000

Most of the Beta Israel live in very high mountain areas which makes it very difficult to transport all the equipment.  That’s why some areas cost more.

Thank you for standing with us with sacrificial gifts.  If you sponsor a well, we would like to dedicate the well in your name.  Donate here

The generous giving of many has allowed us to purchase a drill and dig a well in the Gondar area where many of the Beta Israel live.  This enables us to train young men in the village to operate the drill and dig wells for other villages in the area.
