“This is what the Lord says: “A voice is heard in Ramah, mourning and great weeping, Rachel weeping for her children and refusing to be comforted because they are no more.”  Jeremiah 31:15As you know since the calling of our forefather Abraham, our people have suffered a lot throughout generations and generations. Who would have thought October 7, 2023, would be a horrific massacre day in our own soil homeland. The terrorists murdered children, women young men, and old people; over 1400 innocent Jews were rejoicing on Simcha Torah night, however, that night was changed into the darkest day in our time.Israel has been at war for over 30 days and the hardest still has not yet come. From the North to the South the enemy vows to wipe out Israel from the map of the earth. But the God of our forefathers fight for His people and the enemy will be wiped out not Israel. Our Ethiopian Jews were also affected a lot in this war. In Beersheba, the mother of the slain Ethiopian soldier said to us,“I was dreaming of my son to have children and good families in our land and thought of Israel as the safest place to us, but they took him away from me and no hope for me the rest of my life. I thought Ethiopia was the worst place for Jews, but Israel is much worse off than Ethiopia because I lost my hope, helper, and everything in my life. I’ll mourn for the rest of my life for the death of my son.”HIIM is supporting the families and comforting them. We are continuing to monitor closely this family in Beersheba and also the rest of the Ethiopian families who lost their children and husbands. We appreciate your prayers and support during these difficult days ahead of us.Be blessed in Yeshua!Kokeb and Menalu
